Assistant Principal – High School
 
Position Overview:
The Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal and plays a crucial role in supporting the school’s administrative team. This position is responsible for overseeing various aspects of school operations, including student life, faculty support, and day-to-day management. The Assistant Principal will serve the Marian Mission and Vision, first and foremost, in all decisions and practices. Key Responsibilities:
  • Academic Leadership
    • Oversee student academic performance and progress, offering support and intervention as needed.
    • Coordinate all-school testing, including PSAT/NMSQT, PreACT/ACT, and AP exams.
    • Manage shared time programming related to attendance and enrollments.
    • Conduct teacher observations both for shared time and non-shared time faculty with Principal’s support.
  • Student Support and Behavior Management:
    • Serve as the primary authority for student behavior and classroom dynamics.
    • Develop and implement restorative approaches to discipline.
    • Encourage student leadership development and oversee related programs and initiatives.
  • Faculty and Staff Collaboration:
    • Support the professional growth and development of teachers and staff.
    • Manage hiring, training, and oversight of substitute teachers.
  • Mission Integration and Accreditation:
    • Collaborate with the Principal on accreditation and mission integration efforts.
    • Ensure school policies and practices align with the Catholic faith and IHM values.
  • Safety and Emergency Preparedness:
    • Manage school safety and emergency operations, ensuring a safe and secure campus.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Participate in school events, such as orientations, open houses, and graduation ceremonies.
    • Serve on relevant committees and represent the school at Board of Trustee meetings.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of high school teaching experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a school building administrator.
  • Valid High School Administrator’s certification.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations with empathy and clarity.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative school culture.
  • Familiarity with best practices in student affairs and youth development.

STEM Director and Teacher

Marian High School is seeking a full-time STEM Director/teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The successful candidate will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with teaching endorsements in EITHER Mathematics (EX), Science (DI- preferred, DP, or other appropriate science endorsement), OR both Math AND Science.

This position will spend half the day teaching in the classroom, and the other half of the day in the role of permanent STEM Director. Marian High School is in the middle of a multi-million-dollar capital campaign to renovate the school’s Science wing. For this role, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead curriculum-level efforts as well as advise on cutting-edge educational equipment and practices. The STEM Director is expected to serve a leadership role in the establishment and maintenance of current educational best practices for STEM. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate as a subject-area expert to impact a project from the ground up.

Paraprofessional: Part-Time OR Full-Time
Marian High School is seeking a paraprofessional substitute for paraprofessional duties during the school day and possibly after school for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a 10-month, hourly contract with a competitive benefits package available for full-time option. Role aligns with school vacations. Duties include but are not limited to supporting the daily function/operations of the school, monitoring school hallways, and supervising students after school.  Qualifications: college degree preferred.
